Edit any workflow as JSON, right next to the canvas

The workflow editor has a new tab alongside Editor and Executions: JSON. It shows the current workflow as plain, editable text — the same simplified format the in-app copilot speaks — with Apply to canvas, Copy, and Discard controls.

This is the lossless bridge for workflows designed outside the app. If you draft a workflow with an AI assistant or keep one in version control, you no longer have to re-narrate it through chat — paste the JSON and it's applied exactly as written, validated by the same compiler the copilot uses. Copy works the other way: pull a workflow out as text, edit it anywhere, paste it back.

A few things that make it safe to use:

  • Nothing touches your workflow unless the JSON compiles cleanly; errors show instantly as you edit.
  • Nodes that already exist on the canvas keep their hand-arranged positions — a JSON edit never scrambles your layout. Only new nodes get auto-placed.
  • Undo works. A bad paste is one keyboard shortcut away from gone.
  • Webhook and schedule triggers are configured in the trigger panel, not the JSON, and pass through an apply unchanged.
  • Teammates viewing the same workflow see your apply land as a single change, and if the workflow is live, the usual active-workflow warning shows on the JSON tab too.

Available now in every workflow editor.
